Daron reveals his biggest guitar influences
JERRY GARCIA
“I love Jerry. I’m a huge fan of the Grateful Dead and I love listening to Jerry solo. his tone, the way he picks, the way he plays his solos… it’s tough to explain why I’m attracted to it, but he’s always been somebody that I enjoy listening to.”

RANDY RHOADS
“randy rhoads was always a huge influence on me. It wasn’t as much about the solos, but it was more about the songs from the era when ozzy was working with him. he was adding a lot of classical elements to things at that time. I never really tried to copy his solos or anything like that, just his playing style. there was also an emotional attachment to him. I was always so sad that he’d died so young and that he couldn’t put out any more stuff. randy was a really big deal to me when I was a kid.”

NEIL YOUNG
“I love listening to Neil play. It’s raw, free and not technical. I’ve never really been attracted to the technical side of music. I’ve always been attracted to the feeling and Neil’s guitar solos sometimes sound wrong, but they’re right, you know? he’s not bringing a lot of technique to the table, but to me, you can always teach technique but you can never teach feel. Someone like Neil is all feel and I really appreciate that.”
