TASTE OF GREED

Irreversible

GREEDIFY Germany’s politicised thrashers rev up to speed

After unleashing their warmly received debut EP, The Feast, in 2015, the Hamburg-based, selfconfessed “virtuous thrash bastards” have unveiled their first full-length LP and it’s an opus that firmly states their hunger for breakneck, eardrum-battering metal hasn’t subsided. Powerful and political, Irreversible rages against the proverbial machine and is played with precision throughout. Granted, some fat could be trimmed – namely the lumpen Too Little Words – but overall this is a frantic, ferocious listen, laden with face-melting guitars and arresting time signatures. The back catalogues of the likes of Testament and Raging Speedhorn cast a large shadow over proceedings, especially on Treasures In Humanity and gNOsis, but what the record lacks in originality it makes up for with razor-sharp hooks, brutal breakdowns and super-fast and melodic shredding solos. FOR FANS OF: RAGING SPEEDHORN, LAMB OF GOD, TESTAMENT
