The mixed reviews given to the remake of Dario Argento’s Suspiria just go to show that the true masters of horror were driven by the kind of perverse, irrational impulses that are impossible to recreate. 1975’s Deep Red (or Profondo Rosso to give it its proper, original title), even more than Suspiria, was a bewilderingly seductive maze that resonated more on a sensual rather than narrative level, aided by Goblin’s and Giorgio Gaslini’s wonderfully over-ripe soundtrack. Experience it in the vivid, hi-def glory it deserves with this box set featuring a both the original version, a 4K export restored from the original negatives, along with a host of extras, as well as a disc of the soundtrack itself. You’ll also find six art cards and a killer, vintage-style poster, all of which is enticement enough to take the plunge. HTTP://TINYURL.COM/DEEP-RED-BOX
