WHAT’S THE MOST ILLEGAL THING YOU’VE EVER DONE?
“I’ve entered countries illegally. We entered Bolivia and, on the border, the dude was like, ‘What’s your group?’ I was like, ‘No, I’m on holiday!’ with a line of long-haired guys with guitar cases behind me. Ha ha! I went, ‘Fuck it! We’re Gama Bomb. I’m not going to jail in fucking Bolivia!’ The next thing, they have their arms around us, taking selfies.”
WHAT’S THE MOST METAL ALBUM YOU OWN?
“The epitome of the heavy metal album is the first one I heard all the way through: Iron Maiden’s Live After Death. When I first heard Phantom of the Opera, I thought, ‘Can music be this fast?!’ And the cover is Eddie tearing out of a grave with lightning striking his head!”
WHAT’S THE WORST INJURY YOU’VE EVER HAD?
“A broken heart. That’ll make the readers think I’m sensitive, you know?”
WHAT’S THE MOST YOU’VE EVER BEEN SICK?
“We played a Mexican metal festival. These kids were like, ‘Try these!’ and they had a bag full of red things. I thought they were peppers but they tasted like a cross between paprika and… technology. I looked into the bag and saw it was full of dried locusts.
I had two days of toilet nightmares.”
WHAT’S THE GROSSEST THING YOU’VE EVER HAD IN YOUR MOUTH?
“Last week we made a music video in a fetish dungeon. In the video, I’m chewing and licking a riding crop, and afterwards I was like, ‘Oh God! Where’s that thing been?!’”
WHAT’S THE WORST FIGHT YOU’VE EVER BEEN IN?
“We played a festival in Italy and we have an antifascist song called Mussolini Mosh. There were these nationalist, fascist black metal dudes in the audience. Security had to get us because these Nazis had knives. Then, in the dressing rooms, it turns out the security guards are also fascists, so they made us leave.”
WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU BLED?
“I was taking a bag out to the bin and a broken glass cut my calf open. Loads of meat came out, and blood pissed absolutely everywhere.”
WHAT’S THE RAREST PIECE OF MERCHANDISE YOU OWN?
“My big thing is Indiana Jones merchandise. I’ve got a poster from a cinema that advertises the premiere of Temple Of Doom, and that Charles and Lady Di will be attending. There are only six of them in the world.”
WHAT’S YOUR MOST PAINFUL TATTOO OR PIERCING?
“I have none. If I got one, I’d get Bullseye’s Jim Bowen on my dick.”
