THE BIG PICTURE OLI HERBERT

1974-2018

-

ON OCTOBER 17, All That Remains announced that their guitarist and founding member, Oli Herbert, had died at the age of 44.

“Oli was an incredibly talented guitarist and songwriter who defined rock and metal from the North East,” read a statement from the rest of the band. “His impact on our lives will continue indefinitely.”

Oli co-founded All That Remains in 1998, and released nine albums with the Massachusetts metallers, including this year’s Victim Of The New Disease.

He was also a much-loved member of the metal community, with many musicians coming forward to pay tribute. Hatebreed’s Jamey Jasta described him as a “kind, cool and awesomely talented person,” while Lacuna Coil singer Cristina Scabbia noted: “I will always remember him as a sweet, kind and calm human being.”

Hammer would like to extend our thoughts and sympathies to Oli’s friends, family and bandmates at this incredibly sad time.
