EROSION
Maximum Suffering
HYDRA HEAD Baptists and 3 Inches Of Blood members take a dark turn What do you get when you take members of jagged metallic hardcore act Baptists and plonk former 3 Inches Of Blood howler Jamie Hooper at the mic?
Maximum Suffering is the answer, and while it’s a bitter dose, it’s not the racket you might expect. The band opt for a murky, scum-slicked brand of hardcore that takes in the crusty density of His Hero Is Gone, the vitriol of Trap Them and a dollop of Entombed circa Wolverine
Blues. There’s a progression from their Kill Us All tape, with the band sounding in greater control of their fury, but personality is lacking. This is satisfying, but Erosion are yet to overshadow the members’ previous achievements.
