The US metallers are finally coming back to the UK
wHAT TOOK YOU GUYS SO lONG TO GET BACK HERE?!
Lajon Witherspoon (vocals): “A lot of factors, things going on in the background… it took this long to get the right team to make this happen and get back over to see y’all again! We have been dying to get back to the Uk; we always saw it as an amazing place for rock and metal music. We really can’t wait to come back and pick up where we left off!”
DOES THE METAl SCENE IN THE US fEEl DIffERENT TO wHAT’S HAPPENING IN EUROPE AND THE UK?
“We have a good thing going on in the US. our fans have been there for us year after year, album after album… so much so that we don’t look at them as fans anymore, we see them as family! We haven’t been to Europe and the Uk enough to really find our place in the scene yet, so I don’t know if the metal scene is different but I can’t wait to find out. our whole career, folks have been saying, ‘You need to get to the Uk to play!’”
wHAT ElSE HAvE YOU BEEN UP TO?
“2018 has been packed for us. We started the year with filming three videos in two days. We have never done that before. I don’t know if we ever will again! Ha ha ha! Soon after, we started to ramp up the new album by doing a press tour followed by a few six-week tours in the states. We are now out with our friends in Clutch in the US, we filmed our fourth video for the album… In amongst that, I’ve been spending time with my beautiful family.”
wHAT’S BEEN YOUR BIGGEST HIGHlIGHT Of THE YEAR?
“Being able to spend time with my family is always the most important thing to me. Touring the world is a close second!”
wHAT ABOUT THE TOUGHEST MOMENT?
“Being on the road as much as we are, we miss a lot of things that happen at home. This year I saw my wife go through the loss of her grandfather. Things like that are crushing because you can only be there for the ones you love in person for so long before you have to leave again.”
wHAT OTHER PlACES wOUlD YOU lIKE TO TOUR?
“We really want to build our base in Europe. We love playing together so much and believe that music is a healer.”
