He starred as a White Walker and he’s a huge fantasy geek, so we asked Anthrax’s Scott Ian to choose his ideal storylines for the final season
“I WANT TYRION TO WIN THE THRONE because I think he’s the smartest and most empathetic of all the characters on the show, and would probably make the best ruler. I will say this, though – it’s a thankless job. No matter who gets it, whether Jon Snow ends up on the throne because he’s the rightful heir, half the world is still going to want to take him down. I don’t know why anybody would actually want the throne.”
“I HOPE JAMIE KILLS CERSEI and saves everybody from her evil, and at the same time he dies. That would be the most satisfying end to that storyline. Jaime’s no innocent; even with his redemption arc over the last couple of seasons, he’s still a horrible murderer. It doesn’t matter if he’s nice to Brienne of Tarth or he’s realising that his sister is a fucking maniac. He is, too. It’s fitting for him to die by the sword.”
“I HOPE JON SNOW AND DAENERYS TARGARYEN FIND OUT THEY’RE RELATED, and I hope they don’t care, ha ha! They gave us that scene, and incest has been a part of the show and the book since the beginning. It’s not like they’re brother and sister, so in that world it’s fine. But if she realises that Jon is actually the rightful heir, maybe she’ll decide he’s got to go, which in turn would make for an interesting storyline.”
“I ASSUME THERE WILL BE A DRAGON BATTLE! Who’s gonna stop the ice dragon? I don’t know, maybe two regular dragons!”
“BRAN’S GOING TO BECOME THE THREE-EYED RAVEN, whatever the hell that means. I’m assuming he has to take out the Night King, because it feels like maybe them two are coming to a head.”
“I’D BE PERFECTLY HAPPY IF NOT ONE CHARACTER SURVIVED. David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have done such a great job; I put myself in their hands and I trust they’re going to come up with a satisfying ending. I’m hoping some of these assholes get what they deserve. I’d like to see Cersei get punched in the face 7,000 times. I abhor violence of any kind, especially against women, but she fucking deserves everything she’s got coming to her. On the other hand, I’m the type of guy who doesn’t necessarily need a happy ending. Most people suck on that show, so if the whole fucking thing ended with her sitting on the throne laughing at a pile of bodies in front of her, or if the Night King and his army end up winning the whole thing, I’ve no problem with that either!”
