HELLS HEADBANGERS Colorado ne’er-do-wells unleash a filthy punk/black cacophony

Nekrofilth sound like Midnight’s smellier, sleazier punk cousins and it’s easy to imagine them rehearsing in a sewer beneath some Satanic crust-punk squat. The band’s grinding ratty punk clamour and proto-death metal is a “shitmix” cocktail of Repulsion, Hellhammer, Autopsy and Slaughter with plenty of good time rock’n’roll spit and sneer – a sound and attitude that must transfer perfectly to the stage. In true DIY hardcore spirit, the band’s second album comes after five years of countless splits, seveninches and EPS and was rawly recorded to analogue to fulfil the band’s 80s production ethos. With bandmembers with names like Shaggy and songtitles like Vomit Dog and Gutter Oil, Nekrofilth certainly live up to their filthy aesthetic in a gloriously rowdy party of drunken dirge.
