THE BIg DEBATE
As Gojira, Venom Prison, Babymetal and more played Glastonbury, Editor Merlin Alderslade wrote a piece exploring how the mega-fest had finally embraced heavy music. You lot had some opinions…
HE SAID
“After years in the wilderness, metal is very much on the agenda for Europe’s biggest festival. Ultimately, that can only be a good thing for our scene. Perhaps Metallica were onto something after all.”
YOU SAID
They’re just flexing their muscles and dropping a few token acts in. Covering all bases. You just endorsed a festival that has Hannah Montana playing.

I’ll only go if it’s with a group of friends and for the experience. With the way of not knowing who we’ll get to see before getting a ticket, it makes it a bit risky if a person only wants to go for metal.

Most of the people slagging this all off have never even been to Glastonbury. It’s the best festival ever and a few metal bands being added to the bill only makes it better. Korn next year, please.

I hope we get to see more heavy bands on Glasto’s big stages and not just stuck into one corner.

I was at Glasto and I got to see Chemical Brothers and Venom Prison in one fucking weekend. What’s not to like?
