Metal collaborators weave a genre-spanning work of wonder

Consisting of members of Behold The Desecration, Fallujah, Wolf King and Anisoptera, Black Passage conjure a vivid and eclectic storm that encompasses elements of death metal, alternative rock, nu metal and even ambient postrock. On paper, it should be a complete mess, but the quintet brilliantly weave all these seemingly disparate elements together cohesively and succinctly. Soaring clean vocals and guttural screams interweave and blend in (un)holy matrimony atop a consistently moving and changing atmos-tech template – albeit one that never fixates on fretwizardry over songwriting nous.
