THE WILDHEARTS

Ginger’s resurrected rockers continue to ride the wave
The Wildhearts are contenders for comeback of the year. First we had Renaissance Men, their first album in a decade, followed by that stupendous set at Bloodstock. Now the quartet are back with five newly recorded fizzblasters: dark, heavy, razorsharp and imbued with Ginger’s bittersweet, angstridden lyrical touch. The title track rails against his dispassionate treatment by the medical profession in a battle with mental health while if A Song About Drinking doesn’t make you crave a tray of Jägerbombs then you’re probably dead. The Wildhearts still sound unassailably triumphant. ■■■■■■■■■■
