The crusher

an intense tune. Zoltan describes its hard-hitting lyrics as “almost sarcastic: Is it heavy enough for you now? am I bleeding enough?” adds Ivan: “I want to come out of the gates swinging. We’re not bending for anyone.”

The familyfriendly one

“It was something that I wrote for my kids,” says Ivan. “my favourite line is ‘Life’s not a game. It’s a song. Write it, sing it, be proud of it.’ that song just fucking gets me all teary-eyed. I love it.” Zoltan adds: “the first time I heard it, I was like, ‘Whoa!’”

The angry one

“First thing in the morning, you get up and start your day by stubbing your toe and the whole fucking thing is ruined,” says Ivan. “If you want to know what it’s like, a day in the life of hanging out with me, this is it. It’s one of my top three songs on the album.”

The bemused observation

“It is almost political, but from the outside,” says Zoltan. “like, ‘holy shit, what the fuck is going on?’ It’s like watching a train crash in slow motion. It’s more an observation of: ‘this is just out of fucking control. What’s happening?’”

The selfanalysis

“I had to turn myself inside out. I had to really just gut myself and say, ‘this is what you’ve become. What are you going to do with it?’” says Ivan. “at the end of the day, you stand by yourself. the world can only do so much.”
