Immersive mastery from Germany’s instrumental magicians

After returning to their instrumental roots with 2018’s Boundless, these German post-rockers set about creating a show that would visually complement their mesmerising wall of sound. Three gigs followed at beautiful venues across Germany with this DVD filmed at the cultural church ‘Kulturkirche’ Altona, in Hamburg. Backed by a cellist, electronic beats and specially curated visuals, the band have added a new aura and sense of depth to their hypnotic storm of groove and melody. When the camera pans back to capture the band performing beneath the high vaulted ceiling, stone arches and stained glass with a spellbound crowd squeezed onto pews, it really does make for breathtaking viewing. ■■■■■■■■■■
