Surely it’s time for album number eight to arrive…
While the Avenged camp weren’t totally silent in 2020 – the band continued their song breakdown series on Youtube, launched various individual projects and used their platform to voice their stirring support for the Black Lives Matter movement courtesy of M. Shadows – it certainly wasn’t a standout year for the Cali megaweights. It’s been a little over four years since The Stage - the longest gap between Avenged albums ever – so we’re predicting that we’ll finally see album number eight by the end of 2021. And the most exciting thing of all? If their last couple of records are anything to go by, we have absolutely no idea what it’ll sound like. Will they continue the progressive meanderings of The Stage? Could we see a return to the hellfire and heavy metal of Hail To The King? Or something new entirely? We can’t wait to find out.
