NEKROMANTHEON

The Visions Of Trismegistos INDIE RECORDINGS

-

Dark thrash savagery with no backflips or smiling

At one end of the thrash spectrum, people chug beer and do backflips off the furniture. At the other, bands like Nekromantheon explosively salute the imminent arrival of the endtimes, with all the brutality, dissonance and old-school purity that such an endeavour entails. The Norwegians write songs that dare to rival the mid-to-late 80s classics. The opening title track is played with such scabbyknuckled venom that not

banging your head will be considerably trickier than usual. Seven Rulers Of Hate

is even faster and more furious, with dizzying tempo changes and an escalating sense of impending violence. Neptune Descent is a dense blur of clattering sci-fi brutality and devilish hooks. In fact, every one of this album’s 33 minutes will take your face off – no party invite required. ■■■■■■■■■■
