Keep calm and carry on knitting! Survivor, 105, barely drops a stitch
A ‘REMARKABLE’ 105-year-old became one of the oldest people in Britain to survive coronavirus – and went straight back to her knitting.
Pat Aldridge beat the disease after just five days in hospital, where she needed intermittent oxygen.
The day after her discharge, she took part in a quiz at her care home and went for her usual daily walk.
Her carers at Nynehead Court in Wellington, Somerset, say she is part of the ‘resilient generation’.
‘At 105, she is truly marvellous,’ said care home manager Jo Fenn.
Mrs Aldridge, born in 1914 in Solihull, West Midlands, tested positive for Covid-19 after being taken to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton with a high temperature on April 19.
‘I don’t really remember the moment I was told I had beaten the virus,’ she said. ‘But I am just pleased to be back among my friends and I feel as bright as I can for someone my age.’
