Here comes the sun

This summer solstice – June 21 – you can watch the sun rise over Stonehenge live online. English Heritage, which manages the site, is organising the livestream because it has had to cancel the physical ritual that attracts thousands annually. The Neolithic monument in Wiltshire, is said to be around 5,000 years old and while mystery shrouds its origins, it is most associated with ancient druids, who are believed to have built it. Whatever the truth, it’s a beautiful symbol of our country’s history and the chance to see it at sunset and sunrise is one you should snap up.

The livestream starts at 9.26pm on June 20 and at 4.52am the next day, english-heritage.org.uk
