TOP DOGS CAN TAKE THE LEAD AGAIN

-

HERE comes the summer, the return of sport and, hopefully, light at the end of the coronavirus tunnel.

Horse racing and snooker are back today but fastest out of the traps are the greyhounds with two morning meetings.

Betting shops do not reopen for another fortnight but bookmakers’ apps screen the action live.

Greyhound Board of Great Britain managing director Mark Bird said: ‘We were the last show in town in the

UK prior to the lockdown, we’re delighted and proud to be the first back too.’

The first race is at Birmingham track Perry Barr at 10.21 when Dungarvan Hobo is fancied in trap five, while trap two Coolykereen Aero can claim Swindon’s opener at 10.36.

The last races of the day are tonight at Yarmouth, where trap four Blackstone Jemma is fancied in the 9.36. Salacres Barley completes our yankee bet in the 9.51 at Nottingham.
