DEVELOPERS throughout the UK are offering a host of incentives to woo buyers. These may be available on particular plots or across entire sites and range from price reductions, stamp duty and mortgage contributions to partexchange, furniture packages and other interior upgrades. ‘While price is often non-negotiable, push for extras, such as flooring or carpets,’ says James Forrester, director of StripeHomes. ‘Stamp duty deals are often easily negotiable, and if the house is yet to be built, little details, like additional plug sockets, can save you a considerable sum of money in the long run.’
