CORONA KINDNESS

■ I have been self-isolating since the end of January with stage 4 lung, liver, pancreas and back cancer, and I would like to say thanks for the kindness shown to me by the family down the road, who have been coming every evening to take my dog out for a walk. They are Poppy, Jasper, Woody, Matt and Nicki. Many thanks indeed. What a great help to me and my pooch.

■ Thanks to the staff of South Ward at Doncaster Royal Infirmary. These hard-working ladies are not on the Covid-19 ward but I have been in for a week now with a hernia and they have been looking after me. It’s not an easy job being a nurse but they have treated me with dignity, respect and have always had a smile on their faces. Natural-born heroes, every one of them.

Even with three little ones at home, Leona is the linchpin who never stops in her efforts to unite us. Stephen also can’t do enough for his neighbours and our school community while also being a superhero, front-line key worker in the NHS! What a couple, three cheers!’
