THE new national lockdown will run from November 5 until December 2.

YOU can only leave home for specific reasons. These include education if it is not provided online, work if you cannot do your job from home and for exercise, which you can take as many times a day as you wish.

PEOPLE can leave for recreation­al purposes with their own household or with one person from another household.

YOU can also leave home to shop for food and essentials, and to provide care for vulnerable people or as a volunteer.

MEETING others in homes and gardens will not be allowed.

LEAVING home is also allowed for attending medical appointmen­ts, or to escape from injury or harm, such as in the case of domestic abuse.

SUPPORT bubbles will remain in place and people can meet up in their bubble – for example, couples who live alone.

CHILDREN can move between the homes of their parents if their parents are separated and live at different addresses.

NON-ESSENTIAL shops, leisure and entertainm­ent venues will close. This includes golf courses and driving ranges.

BARS, pubs and restaurant­s must close except for delivery or take-away services. Pubs will not be allowed to sell takeaway alcohol.

HOTELS, hostels and other accommodat­ion should only open for those who have to travel for work and for a limited number of reasons, which will be set out later.

PEOPLE over 60 and those who are clinically vulnerable are being told to be especially careful to follow the rules and minimise their contact with others.

OVERSEAS travel is not advised except for essential reasons.

CHURCHES will remain open for private prayer. Funerals will be limited to a maximum of 30 people. Weddings, civil partnershi­p ceremonies are only allowed in ‘exceptiona­l circumstan­ces’.
