Home working ‘can save commuters nearly £4k’
OFFICE staff living in commuter belt towns could save an average of £2,399 over six months if they continue to work from home.
Workers in Peterborough who usually use monthly train season tickets would be most better off, saving £3,995, according to Bankrate UK, which analysed rail fares after Boris Johnson urged the public to work from home.
Residents of Wellingborough, Northampton and Milton Keynes could also save over £3,000 each not travelling into London, while commuters usually going from Coatbridge to Edinburgh are set to keep £2,053 in their pocket.
