Islamist killers behead 50 villagers on football pitch
MORE than 50 people – including at least 15 boys – have been beheaded in an attack by militant Islamists on a village in Mozambique.
Their dismembered bodies were found scattered across a forest clearing after a football pitch was turned into an ‘execution ground’.
Gunmen are said to have chanted ‘Allahu Akbar’ when they raided a village, torched homes and abducted women, while others slaughtered victims in Muatide on Friday and Saturday, according to the BBC.
Jihadists in the country have killed more than 2,000 people since 2017.
