BoJo’s daily Covid briefings gave me back my diet mojo

-

OVERWEIGHT mum Emma Forrest-Leigh has scared herself slim by using Boris Johnson’s coronavirus briefings as a dieting pep talk.

The 46-year-old was terrified when she learned her 18st weight made her more likely to die if she fell ill with Covid-19.

So the size 22 jeweller made sure she tuned in for the prime minister’s daily update – to make her too frightened to eat snacks.

By switching from a sweet and chocolate-laden diet to sugar-free meals packed with vegetables, she lost 9st this year. She has now cut out meat and alcohol, and cycles with her sons, aged five and ten.

Size ten Emma, from North Kesteven, Lincolnshire, said: ‘I made sure to watch the updates every day as it was a really stark reminder about the obesity level. The daily updates helped to keep me motivated with seeing how health is a major priority.’
