We’d have put our last choux bun on Hermine rising victorious like a sumptuous soufflé but it’s left to Peter, Laura and Dave to battle it out to become queen or king of our tarts. There aren’t many upsides to Covid but having the bakers mixed in a bubble for the duration has produced a heart-warming series where everyone has rubbed along famously. They’re all winners.

Here’s how to play the Industry game: place your bets before the start on which actor will be next to whip his bits out. Maybe it’s a metaphor for banking demanding a pound of flesh but it certainly eases the pain of working out what the jargon means and what the plot’s all about.

In a film that could burn your eyeballs if you’ve got a giant HD TV, director Ron Howard turns his gaze on the forest fire that sent the California town of Paradise up in flames in 2018. As the town disintegrates, it’s like the opening shots of a dystopian disaster movie.
