NO DOUBT...MY NO.1 IS A SHOCK!

GWEN ON HIT RETURN AND HER WEDDING DELAY

Finding her Voice: Stefani debuted new song on US TV in bejewelled outfit

WEN STEFANI had major doubts her pop career could be resurrected – but now finds herself at the top of the charts... much to her shock. The No Doubt star felt overlooked before giving things a go with new single Let Me Reintroduce Myself.

She debuted the song – her first in four years – on The Voice, in the US, clad in bejewelled, floral hot pants and boots and confessed: ‘I honestly never really was planning to do new music… though I fantasised about it.’ At 51, the What You Waiting For? singer said holding out for a hot track never worked, as they always went to younger rivals.

‘I never get songs sent to me, just so you know. I always ask, “Can someone send me Umbrella by Rihanna?”

‘I would do that song.

Do you know what I’m saying?’ she told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe.

But her Christmas has come early, after her comeback track topped this week’s iTunes charts in the US.

She also explained why she has delayed her wedding to country singer Blake Shelton (pictured), 44, until next year. The mum-of-three – who was wed to Bush rocker Gavin Rossdale, 55, for 15 years – didn’t want to get married in a mask and wants her folks at the bash.

‘I just want my parents there,’ she said.

‘ They wouldn’t come to Thanksgiving because they were so scared [ about the pandemic], so, really, I would rather it not be a Covid situation.

‘ I would rather not have masks and that kind of thing. ‘ Even when you cut it down to just family, it’s still too many people for Covid, so we’re sort of going to see what happens in the next few months.’
