Biden’s fresh warning over Khashoggi killing

-

JOE BIDEN says he will make an announcement on Saudi Arabia today after a US intelligence report found the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi was ‘approved’ by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The president faced criticism for not taking tougher action against the regime and its ruler after releasing the formerly classified report on Friday.

Asked about sanctions, Mr Biden said he would announce ‘what we are going to be doing with Saudi Arabia generally’. A White House official suggested no new significant steps were expected.

Action taken on Friday included a visa ban on some Saudis believed involved in the Khashoggi killing.

Elaine Gurnham, 58, and two other patients settled out of court with orthopaedic surgeon Mohammed Suhaib Sait who is said to have used ‘out of date techniques’ at the now closed Fawkham Manor Hospital, Kent, in April 2016.

‘My foot at the time went all different colours ranging from blue to brown and then black,’ Ms Gurnham, of Rochester, told the Medway Messenger.

Insurers for Mr Sait – who denied negligence – said he was ‘unable to comment’.
