TO DEAR GRANNY DIANA
George’s message on Mother’s Day:
PRINCE GEORGE, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis paid a touching tribute to their ‘Granny Diana’ on Mother’s Day, saying: ‘Papa is missing you.’
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s three children wrote separate messages to Prince William’s late mum, who died in 1997 aged 36.
Copies of the handwritten cards were posted on social media by Kensington Palace, which noted that Mother’s Day would be ‘different once again’ this year.
It said: ‘Many of us will be apart from our loved ones, but looking forward to a time in the not too distant future when we can give our mother a hug again. But for those experiencing bereavement, today may be particularly challenging.
‘Each year on Mother’s Day, George, Charlotte and Louis make cards remembering their Granny, Diana, for William. Whatever your circumstances, we are thinking of you this Mother’s Day.’
The post included what appeared to be a crayon drawing by Prince George of a landscape featuring a tree, the sun, and birds flying in a blue sky. His card said: ‘Dear Granny Diana, Happy Happy mothers day. I love you very much and think of you always, Sending lots of love from George xxxxx.”
Charlotte’s card read: ‘Dear Granny Diana, I am thinking of you on mother’s Day. I love you very much. Papa is missing you. Lots of love Charlotte xxxxxxxxx.’
Meanwhile Louis’s card featured a painted drawing of a big heart and was adorned with animal stickers.
Comments included: ‘This is so sweet’ and ‘Papa’s missing you. I’m crying!’
