PEP GUARDIOLA hailed Manchester City as they made it four Carabao Cup triumphs in a row in front of their fans at Wembley yesterday.
City’s hopes of winning four trophies this season – a fabled quadruple – may be over but Aymeric Laporte’s 82nd-minute header saw off Tottenham 1-0 in front of 8,000 supporters, to ensure their remarkable League Cup success continues.
Guardiola’s men were completely dominant against a Spurs team who saw manager Jose Mourinho depart six days previously, with 29-year-old Ryan Mason in his second game in temporary charge.

City winger Riyad Mahrez said: ‘It’s so good to have the fans back. They made a massive difference.’ Manchester United’s 0-0 draw at Leeds, meanwhile, leaves City two wins from the Premier League title as they chase a league, League Cup and Champions League Treble.
