5G protesters wipe out web... by targeting 5GHz box

BUNGLING protesters knocked out internet in parts of Glastonbury – after mistaking a 5GHz broadband transmitter for 5G (5th generation mobile technology).

Culprits left a sign saying: ‘Check out the 5G at Paddington Farm’ – the site of the box in Somerset. Critics of 5G technology say it is harmful and it is the subject of many conspiracies. But Adam Goodman, of Voneus Broadband, which provides the connection, said the vandals got it wrong. ‘The act was not only criminal but also completely pointless and did nothing for their protest,’ he said.

A TEENAGER overcame a lifelong stammer to achieve his dream and say his own name for the first time - then interviewed footballer Marcus Rashford. Faizan Sheikh, of Manchester, beat his impediment via therapy and documented his battle on social media. The 18-year-old (pictured with Rashford) said talking with his hero was ‘a dream come true’.

A CORRUPT policeman who helped a gang steal hundreds of thousands of pounds from drugs couriers has been jailed for eight years. Metropolitan Police PC Kashif Mahmood (pictured), 31, carried out fake stops on cars and misused the police computer to get intelligence on rivals. Mahmood, of Harlow, Essex, admitted conspiracy and misconduct in a public office.
