Football fan’s death is linked to vicious attack in 2015

A ‘CASUAL link’ has been found between a vicious attack on a Cambridge United fan and his death five years later, police say.

Simon Dobbin (pictured) was left with permanent brain damage and unable to walk or talk after a gang of thugs repeatedly stamped on his head in Southend, Essex, following a match in March 2015. Thirteen people were later convicted over the attack. Mr Dobbin died on October 21 last year.
