There’s a time and place for a protest and this is not it…
Climate protesters brought chaos to the M25 for the second time this week causing long traffic jams – and are being investigated for potentially causing a four-vehicle pile-up (Metro, Thu).
These people are a real pain. Who the hell do they think they are, stopping people getting to work? I’m just waiting to hear that someone gets seriously hurt by their actions. Blocking motorways is not the answer, this country is doing more for the environment than any other. Tell them to go to those countries around the world that are not. They want it all to happen now, this minute, when that’s not possible.

Marshmallow policing – where rules are soft and protesters have few limits – of road protests is unfair to drivers. The right to protest should be balanced with the right for citizens to go freely about their lives.
The police should move any unglued protesters quickly and create routes through for drivers. With current policing it wouldn’t be surprising to see the police handing out hot drinks and sandwiches to the protesters while hungry, legitimate drivers wait hours to get through!

Total idiots. There is a right to protest but not to annoy the everyday person and stop them from working. If the crash that occurred is proved to be caused by the protest then there needs to be some new legislation made to stop this stupidity.

Until they bring in prison sentences for these activists, they will continue. There is a time and place for protest and this is not it.

Decency prevents me from expressing my true feelings. All I will say is that the
motorists being held up by these ‘timerich’ wasters have a reason to be there: be it hospital appointments, work or overstretched lorry transport drivers, all of whom would rather be at home with their families than doing the souldestroying daily grind of motorway travel.
Our underappreciated police have their hands tied by the simpering do-gooders who taint our society. I wonder how long they’d be allowed to sit there in the US, China or Korea?

In the light of the Insulate Britain protesters causing traffic delays on the M25 and elsewhere, I wonder how many have put their hands in their pockets and insulated their homes themselves?
When I retired I thought insulation would be essential in our home and so dry-lined the inner walls, doubled the loft insulation and underfloor insulation too. Now, 15 years later, we are still benefiting from a lower heating bill.
The answer is to get off your backside, let the traffic flow and do some DIY.
