I’ve gone home... Morgan’s back in Murdoch news fold
CONTROVERSIAL TV host Piers Morgan has signed a lucrative deal with Rupert Murdoch’s media empire to present a show on the company’s new channel talkTV.
The ex-Good Morning Britain presenter’s programme will start when the channel launches in the UK next year and will also be shown on right-wing network Fox News in the US and Sky News in Australia.
Morgan left his ITV breakfast role in acrimonious circumstances six months ago after a row over comments he made about Meghan Markle’s mental health.

Morgan started his national journalism career at Murdoch’s newspapers The Sun and the News Of The World, which was shut down in disgrace over the phone hacking scandal, and said he was delighted to be back under the media mogul’s wing. He tweeted last night: ‘I’ve gone home. Great to be rejoining Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation after 28 years.
‘The place I started my media career, with the boss who gave me my first big break. We’re going to have a lot of fun.’ On Wednesday, Morgan was praised by his former on-screen ‘wife’ Susanna Reid as he was named news presenter of the year at the Tric awards. She said ‘no-one has held politicians to account in a more rigorous way’ than he had.
