In Beale trouble now! Soap stars join I’m A Celeb

- by ANDREI HARMSWORTH

SOME fresh soap was delivered to the I’m A Celebrity contestants last night... but they won’t necessarily feel any fresher for it.

They were joined by two surprise arrivals at the ITV show’s Gwrych Castle – EastEnder Adam Woodyatt and Simon Gregson, 47, who plays Coronation Street’s Steve McDonald.

The Welsh castle is unlikely to spook Adam, who seems to have spent his two weeks of isolation in a haunted house.

‘One room made me go cold and shivery every time I went in it,’ he said, though he admitted: ‘I’m not a believer in that stuff.’

With another soap star, Emmerdale’s Danny Miller already among the campmates, Adam, 53, was delighted to have some company.

‘Seeing people again after being isolated for 19 days...’ he added. ‘It’s been a long time in isolation and keeping this secret.’ The actor, who plays Ian Beale, has already waved the white flag on his chances of landing the castle crown, saying: ‘I’m not going to win it. Frankie Bridge has too many followers on Instagram.’

Famed for Ian’s on-screen waterworks, he’s not sure about any meltdowns on I’m A Celeb. ‘I don’t know how I am going to react to the trials,’ Adam said. ‘Noone does. I’m not a brilliant swimmer.’

He is hoping to get close to one contestant in particular. ‘My cousin wants me to spoon David Ginola because he is a Spurs fan,’ he added.
