BRITVIC saw annual profits rise to £142.9million, up from £111.2million in 2020, as Covid restrictio­ns eased. Demand for multipack drinks from summer staycation­ers saw revenues increase 6.5 per cent, the firm said.

BANKNOTE printer De La Rue saw pre-tax profits leap to £10.9million in the six months to September 26 – up from £2.5million a year ago – as cutting costs helped it to overcome the loss of its UK passport contract.

FASHION brand Mulberry saw half-year sales leap 34 per cent to £65.7million as shops reopened after lockdown. Despite missing tourists’ cash amid travel restrictio­ns it made a £10.2million profit.

WALES was ranked the worst part of Britain for local trains. More than one in five residents told YouGov rail provision in their area was bad, while one in ten had no services. Londoners were least likely to be dissatisfi­ed.

THE government has set aside £1.69billion to allow Bulb to continue supplying energy as it tumbled into administra­tion. Regulator Ofgem has asked a court for advisers at Teneo to oversee the firm’s 1.7million accounts.
