Suspect charged over couple’s killing
AN EX-SOLDIER has been charged with the murders of a couple who were stabbed to death at their home in a quiet Somerset village.
Collin Reeves, 34, of Dragon Rise in Norton Fitzwarren, will appear at Taunton magistrates’ court today.
He is accused of killing Stephen and Jennifer Chapple as their children slept upstairs in their Dragon Rise home at around 9.45pm on Sunday.
Post-mortem examinations found the husband and wife, 36 and 33, died from multiple stab wounds.
‘Specialist officers are providing support to Jennifer and Stephen’s families and our thoughts remain with them,’ Det Insp Neil Meade, of Avon and Somerset Police’s major crime investigation team, said last night.
‘It is undoubtedly an extremely difficult time for them and I’d ask their privacy is respected as they continue to come to terms with what has happened.’
