KATE’S LESSONS FOR BEST START IN LIFE
THE Duchess of Cambridge went back to school yesterday to talk to pupils about the importance of early childhood development.
Joining a science lesson at Nower Hill High School, in Harrow, north-west London, she told a class of 13-year-olds that learning through play is like ‘bodybuilding... but for your brain’.
She was in class to discuss her work with the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood. Pupils have been learning about the topic in Secondary Education around Early Neurodevelopment (Seen) lessons, which are run by Oxford university.
‘It’s a real passion of mine, learning about babies’ brains and how our adult brains develop. Keep thinking and chatting about it with your friends,’ she told the class. Headteacher Louise Voden said afterwards the project had a ‘real resonance’ with the children.
