Maximum pain for Burns from Gary

GARY WILSON made a 147 on his way to a 6-2 win over Ian Burns at the UK Championship yesterday.

It was a fourth career maximum for Wilson, who also made breaks of 104, 89, 71, and 67 in an impressive first-round performance in York.

Elsewhere, Barry Hawkins eased to a 6-1 victory over women’s world champion Reanne Evans, while David Gilbert saw off Alfie Burden 6-1.
