■ A MURDER suspect accused of driving through a Christmas parade in Wisconsin has appeared in court, as the death toll rose to include an eight-year-old boy. Darrell Brooks, 39, is said to have killed six people aged eight to 81.

■ THREE parties in Germany aim to form a new government, following Angela Merkel’s 16-year rule. The Social Democrats, who narrowly won an election, want to join with the Greens and the Free Democrats.
