Now Tiger is the Masters of suspense
TIGER WOODS sparked even more fevered speculation he is going to make an astonishing Masters comeback after arriving in Augusta yesterday for a practice round.
The five-time champion flew in to determine whether he is able to compete at next week’s tournament, , arriving at the course along with th his 13-year-old son Charlie to evaluate his fitness on the famously hilly layout.
Woods (pictured), who has been recovering from severe leg injuries suffered in a February 2021 car crash, last month admitted while he can swing freely, the real battle he faces is being able to walk lk courses.
While the 46-year-old has not played a PGA Tour event since the Masters in November 2020, his playing status continues to dominate the build-up to the latest edition. His name will remain on the list of competitors that appear on the Masters website unless the 15-times major champion notifies organisers he will not compete. Woods has been seen practising, and walking the course, at the Medalist club hear his Florida home.
His only o event since the accident came in December, when he finished runner-up alongside si his son in a 36-hole exhibition ex played on a flat course co with no rough. Playing at Augusta, however, eve represents one of the more mor taxing walks on the tour, given its i undulating terrain that also l means players must frequently hit from uneven lies.
In 2019, Woods capped one of the most remarkable comebacks in professional sport when, at the age of 43, he won the Masters after years of surgery and personal problems.
