MUSIALA PLACES BAYERN ON ALERT FOR LOADED GUNNERS

- By LOUIS SEALEY

JAMAL MUSIALA has picked out five Arsenal players for praise ahead of Bayern Munich’s Champions League quarter-final against the Gunners.

Arsenal beat Porto on penalties in the last 16 and will face German champions Bayern for a place in the semis, with the first leg on April 9.

Musiala is wary of the threat posed by the Premier League leaders and picked out five players while admitting they have ‘top quality’ in ‘every position’.

The 21-year-old Germany international told Sport Bild: ‘Martin Odegaard is a brilliant playmaker in midfield but there’s a lot of quality throughout the team. [Bukayo] Saka, [Gabriel] Martinelli, [Declan] Rice, [Kai] Havertz and many more. They have top quality in every position. We have to be ready

for that.’

Bayern are ten points behind Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen with eight games to go, but progressed to the quarter-finals in Europe with a 3-1 aggregate victory over Lazio and Musiala remains hopeful they can win silverware this season.

‘Everything is possible,’ he added. ‘With the second leg against Arsenal in our Allianz Arena we can secure a spot in the semi-finals.

‘I dream about the [Champions League] final at Wembley.

‘It will be difficult to catch Leverkusen. We’ll put as much pressure as possible. We hope we’ll still get something out of this difficult season.’

Either Manchester City or Real Madrid await in the semi-finals, and Musiala added: ‘We can beat any team. There are teams having better seasons than us but I’d never go into a match afraid of the opponent.’
