A PRO-Putin politician who denies ‘kidnapping’ a girl in Ukraine faces a growing scandal after a probe into his activities.

Sergey Mironov (pictured), 71, leader of the Fair Russia party, was accused of a war crime in 2022 when he and his wife took the child from a Kherson orphanage.

They ‘adopted’ her and renamed her Marina, changing her birth certificate to Moscow. But an investigation has revealed the girl, now two, whose real name is Margarita, has a legal Ukrainian guardian.

Daria Repina, living in exile in Greece, said she wants her god-daughter ‘reunited with her blood sister’. Mironov has not responded to the claims.
