PRICE DEFENDS MISSING COURT HEARING: I’M NOT MENTALLY WELL ENOUGH
KATIE PRICE claims she has been signed off from appearing in court due to her mental health, as she replied to a backlash over missing her last bankruptcy hearing and going on holiday to Cyprus. The former glamour model was declared bankrupt for a second time after failing to pay £750,000 in tax – and could face losing her home unless HMRC recovers the money.
But the 45-year-old backed out of the High Court hearing at the last minute, citing health issues – an excuse dubbed ‘scanty’ by the judge.
And she was then spotted on holiday in Ayia Napa with her Married At First Sight boyfriend JJ Slater in a hotel that charges up to £760 per night.
Speaking on her podcast, The Katie Price Show, yesterday, she insisted she was taking the bankruptcy ‘so serious’.
‘The court knew that I wasn’t going to my bankruptcy, because mentally – my consultant at The Priory – I’ve been signed off for any kind of activity for court,’ she said. ‘I’m mentally not strong enough at the moment.’
She added: ‘There is another court hearing and I won’t be going to that either.’
Addressing criticism over the hotel, she said a friend who visited earlier told staff to ‘look after me’ and she was upgraded. It was ‘a very cheap holiday’, she claimed.
