Here are the magistrate­s’ court results for the North Sussex area from December 7 - January 5.

December 7:

Anthony Brotherton,

67, of Prescott Gardens, Burgess Hill, pleaded guilty to using threatenin­g behaviour. The offence took place at Redhill, Surrey, on November 1. He also pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer at Burgess Hill on the same date. The court made a community order with an alcohol treatment requiremen­t and ordered him to pay £50 in compensati­on.

December 9:

James Skingley, 24, of Withypitts East, Turners Hill, pleaded guilty to being in possession of a quantity of cannabis at Crawley on November 10. He also pleaded guilty to resisting a police officer at East Grinstead on the same date. He was fined £80 and ordered to pay £75 in compensati­on.

December 10:

Summer Senki, 34, of Robinson Crescent, Forge Wood, Crawley, pleaded guilty to two charges of common assault. The offences took place at Crawley on July 30, last year. She was fined £830 and ordered to pay £40 in compensati­on.

December 14:

Nathan Arnold, 22, of Curf Way, Burgess Hill, pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall Corsa on the A273 London Road, Burgess Hill, on June 29, last year, while over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 56 microgramm­es. The legal limit is 35 microgramm­es. He also pleaded guilty to driving with cocaine and the controlled drug Benzoylecg­onine in his blood stream at Burgess Hill on the same date. The court made a community order with a requiremen­t of 100 hours of unpaid work and banned him from driving for two years. guilty to assaulting a woman by beating. The offence took place at Lindfield, Haywards Heath, on November 24. He also pleaded guilty to causing damage to a picture belonging to the victim, at Lindfield on the same date. He was fined £120. Magistrate­s issued a restrainin­g order.

December 21:

Scott Taylor, 28, of Commonweal­th Drive, Three Bridges, Crawley, pleaded guilty to using threatenin­g behaviour. The offence took place at Haywards Heath on may 27, last year, He also pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in a public place at Ash Road, Southwater, on the same date. He was fined £50.

December 15

Joseph Holden, 31, of Rocky Lane, Haywards Heath, pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Transit vehicle on London Road, Burgess

Hill, on November 13, while over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 46 microgramm­es. The legal limit is 35 microgramm­es. He also pleaded guilty to driving while disqualifi­ed and to driving with no insurance at Burgess Hill on the same date. Sentencing was adjourned for reports to be prepared. He was released on unconditio­nal bail.

January 4.

Brandon McDowell, 20, of Bennetts Road, Horsham, pleaded guilty to causing £325 damage to the wing mirror of a Kia vehicle.

The offence took place at Horsham on June 29, last year. He was ordered to pay £125 in compensati­on.

Albie Smith, 18, of Hanlye Lane, Cuckfield, pleaded guilty to driving a Yamaha vehicle on Queens Road, Haywards Heath, on August 4, with cannabis in his blood stream. He was given an eight month conditiona­l discharge and banned from driving for eight months.

Andrei Oprea, 22, of Horsham Road, Crawley, pleaded guilty to being in possession of a quantity of cocaine, at Crawley on

August 28. He was fined £346.

Oliver Shipman, 28, of Nightingal­e Avenue, West Horsley, pleaded guilty to driving a Honda vehicle on Bostal Road, Steyning, on June 27, with the controlled drug ketamine in his blood stream. He also pleaded guilty to driving with the controlled drug benzoylecg­onine in his blood stream at Steyning on the same date. He was fined £530 and banned from driving for five months.

Damion Benevenia, 33, of Blackbridg­e Lane, Horsham, pleaded guilty to driving a Volkswagen vehicle on Wordsworth Lane, Worthing, on June 20 with no insurance. He was fined £100.

Mark Smith, 62, of Forestall Cottages, Whatlingto­n, Battle, pleaded guilty to being in breach of a court non-molesation order by attending an address in Haywards Heath, on November 5, 2020. The court made a community order with a requiremen­t of 135 hours of unpaid work and ordered him to pay £620 in prosecutio­n costs.

January 5:

Oliver Morton, 39, of Timbergate Drive, Haywards Heath, pleaded guilty to two charges of assault by beating. The offences took place at Haywards Heath on July 26. He also pleaded guilty to common assault on a police officer at Haywards Heath on the same date. He was fined £400 and ordered to pay £100 in compensati­on.

Jack Clark, 24, of Little Bentswood Close, Haywards Heath, pleaded guilty to causing damage to a patio door and drainpipe. The offence took place in Sussex on August 19, last year. He was given a six month conditiona­l discharge.

John Moffat, 54, of Southlands, East Grinstead, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman by beating her. The offence took place at East Grinstead on September 9, last year. Sentencing was adjourned for reports to be prepared. He was released on unconditio­nal bail.
