District Council to set up Clair Hall steering group
Mid Sussex District Council is proposing to create a Member Steering Group to oversee the delivery of new community facilities at Clair Hall in Haywards Heath.
In a public engagement exercise last year, many residents expressed support for modernising Clair Hall’s facilities.
The council agreed to commission evidence-led work to examine all options so it could deliver ‘future proof ’ facilities on the site.
The cabinet will meet on Monday (February 14) to discuss the creation of this group, which will provide oversight and guidance.
MSDC leader Jonathan Ash-Edwards said: “The creation of a Member Steering Group will enable us to take a considered approach that ensures our decisions will stand the test of time.”
It will work alongside an advisor with experience in the arts and leisure sector.
Mr Ash-Edwards said Clair Hall will continue to be a vaccination centre for as long as the NHS needs it.
