Decision due on council budget

West Sussex County Council’s budget for 2022/23 is due to be discussed at a meeting tomorrow (February 18).

The authority’s portion of the council tax is set to rise by

2.99 per cent – an increase of more than £45 on a Band D bill. This would be made up of a 1.99 per cent core increase and one per cent going towards the adult social care precept. The proposed budget includes a £23.5million increase to revenue – day-today – spending. A £63million budget gap is forecast between 2023/24 and 2025/26.
