Mid Sussex too strong for ladies

Burgess Hill 4s 3 Mid-Sussex 9 This was a game dominated by the opposition attack but the response by Hill reflected their character in coping with the players in this higher division.

Middies scored early and would have been 4-0 up at half-time but for the hard work of Lois Holland, Florence Whaley and Wendy Caddye in midfield and a superb strike from Rebecca Marriner at the top of the D to give Hill a well-deserved goal.

The Hill defence fought bravely and Jane Amerio worked hard up front and was assisted by Larissa Goodger to give Hill their second. Emma Bowles made it three but Middies hit another five.
