WIVELSFIELD RECYCLING DAY: Saturday 19th March

Got some things that you no longer use, but still work and you’d like to get rid of?

To coincide with Global Recycling Day 2022, Wivelsfield Parish Council invites Wivelsfield residents to participate in a Recycling Day on Saturday 19th March. Based upon an idea that our District Councillor, Nancy Bikson, saw work effectively in Australia, the suggestion is that anyone with items that they no longer need, but that have plenty of life left in them, leaves them outside their homes on the Saturday morning, allowing others to come round and take anything that they’d find useful. In this way, residents will be helping to re-use and recycle items, without the hassle of taking them to a charity shop etc and in a way that can benefit others in the immediate community.

Please ensure that everything made available is in good working order, that there aren’t any trip hazards for those walking past, and nothing is left obstructing pavements. Anyone wishing to participate in the event, will be able to download a ‘Wivelsfield Recycling

Day’ poster from the Parish Council website (Wivelsfield. org.uk) in the week before, to display in a window or on the items, to indicate their participation and that any items outside are available for collection. (Hard copies of the poster will be available from the Parish Council for anyone unable to print it. Please contact the Parish Clerk by Wednesday 16th March to arrange to collect a copy).

Any items which have not been taken are to be removed again at the end of the day.

If you have any questions, please email Liz Gander, the Parish Clerk, via clerk@

Thursday 17th March, 11am, Horsted Keynes

Walkers should assemble in the car park at Horsted Keynes, in good time for the start at 11a.m. The walk will be led by John Twisleton, former rector of Horsted Keynes, writer and broadcaster. It can be followed by an optional lunch at the Crown, Horsted Keynes. £4 for WHS members; £5 for visitors.
