Kullberg says Albion can take heart from second half Arsenal display

-

Emma Kullberg says Albion can take momentum from their second-half performance against Arsenal into their bid for a top-six finish in the WSL.

Albion lost 3-0 to the leaders last week after conceding three first-half goals, but the 30-year-old defender believes Albion’s reaction after the break will give them heart for their remaining five games.

“The first thing to say about Sunday is that they were a good team,” said Kullberg. “The first half wasn’t our best and some of the goals we conceded were too easy for them, we made mistakes. We said at halftime that we needed to keep the ball better and have the courage to take the game to the top teams. We stepped up in the second half and were more together – every one of us. They didn’t score and we created more.”

Albion are in a three-way battle with West Ham and Reading for sixth with a point separating the sides. Albion are at West Ham in their next game on Sunday week, March 27. Kullberg has been an ever present since signing for the club in January and is acclimatising to the demands of the WSL.Courtesy
